One factory, one standard. Every instrument in this range comes from Fischer's own workshop in the Ore Mountains, built to the same standard since 1945. Not sourced from whichever factory happened to be cheapest that year, because Fischer's never worked that way.
Hand-engineered, not machine-stamped. Fischer's instruments are still built by hand, the same way they've been since 1945. No conveyor belt, no shortcuts, just decades of the same craft going into every dial.
A genuine range, not one hero product. This collection covers 3-in-1 weather stations (barometer, hygrometer and thermometer together), 4-in-1 versions that add a clock or tide clock, and standalone pairings, so you can match the exact combination and finish to your space instead of settling for whatever's left in stock.
Backed by us, not a warranty queue. We're the NZ and Australia distributor for Fischer Germany, and we service and repair what we sell directly. Truth is, we rarely need to. They're built that well. But if something ever does need attention, you deal with us, not an overseas call centre.
Kurt Fischer founded the Fischer factory in 1945, in the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge) region of Saxony, Germany. Fischer has produced exclusively from that same region ever since, still hand-assembling every instrument in its own workshops rather than outsourcing production.
That's decades of the same professional competence going into every dial. It's also why Fischer instruments turn up in places precision actually matters beyond the living room wall: helping monitor a healthy indoor climate, keeping sauna conditions in range, and giving an accurate read on conditions on the water as well as on land.
Buy one of these, and you're not buying a gadget for this season. You're buying the piece someone in your family will still be glancing at in fifty years, and because Barometers & Clocks is the NZ and Australia distributor for Fischer Germany, that heritage comes with direct backup here too.
In May 2026, Cameron Wilson and Nicola from our own team flew to Drebach, Germany, and spent the day inside the Fischer factory, hosted by Fischer's CEO, Christoph, and Peter. This isn't a heritage story we've lifted off Fischer's own website. We've walked the floor.
They watched bezels and components being made for both the Fischer and Barigo ranges, hygrometers being calibrated and tested for humidity accuracy, and barometers and tide clocks assembled by hand. In the woodworking department, dozens of original wooden templates are still in use today, documenting decades of the same design work.
"The pride the staff take in their work was obvious, and it was clear that quality remains at the heart of everything Fischer does." That's not our marketing line. That's what Cameron and Nicola saw for themselves on the factory floor. It's also why Barigo's marine instruments, built in the same factory, carry the same standard.

Fischer's instruments are handmade in the company's own workshop in the Ore Mountains, a region it has never left since founding in 1945. That single-factory, single-standard approach is rare in an industry where a lot of "German-made" barometers are actually assembled from parts sourced elsewhere.
Yes. Fischer builds its barometers, weather stations and tide clocks by hand in its own workshops, using techniques refined over decades rather than an automated production line.
Every instrument in this range is made in Germany's Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge), Saxony, where Fischer has produced exclusively since 1945.
This range is the full Fischer Germany collection: weather stations, tide clocks, and hygrometer or thermometer pairings, in classic finishes. Fischer Edition is a separate, design-led line, including the POLAR collection, for buyers who want a more contemporary look.
A 3-in-1 combines a barometer, hygrometer and thermometer in one piece, giving you pressure, humidity and temperature at a glance. A 4-in-1 adds a clock or tide clock to that same reading.
Rarely, they're built too well for that. But we're the NZ and Australia distributor for Fischer Germany, and we service and repair what we sell directly, so if something ever does need attention, you deal with us, not an overseas manufacturer process.
